Two sand-coloured triangles over the courtyard beside an arched entrance. One corner is bolted high onto the render by the archway and the others are carried on slim steel posts standing among the garden planting, with the corner heights deliberately mismatched so the cloth pulls tight and stays quiet.
Both posts sit back in the garden bed, so nothing lands in the walkway to the front door or on the brick paving that runs out to the driveway. The hedge hides the post bases from the street. Cover is more useful when the entrance and the side of the house are still easy to get around.

Begin with the area you actually want to sit in. A dining setting needs room for chairs to move; a pool needs clear access and its barrier checks. On a small yard the post positions can decide the layout before the sail shape gets a say.

How long does the install take?+
It depends on the yard. Footings go in first and the concrete has to take before anything gets tensioned, so a job with new posts in it runs longer than one hung off structure that is already there. We go through the sequence once we have seen the site.
Can you use the existing house connections?+
Sometimes, and we look at what is behind a fixing before relying on it. A rafter or solid brickwork can carry a corner. A sail that hung there before tells you very little about a bigger one or a heavier cloth, so the connection gets assessed for the new load.
Do I need council approval for a shade sail in Kellyville?+
