Car park shade structures
Start with the parking plan.
Mark the bays you want covered, then mark the routes that have to stay open. Posts belong well clear of turning paths, accessible bays and the swing of a door. And the lowest point of the canopy has to clear the tallest vehicle that comes through, measured with whatever is strapped to its roof.
We design, make and install carpark structures across Sydney and NSW, engineered to the NSW wind codes with certification available on request. A site plan helps us compare layouts and work out how to get plant in and out. Where a frame is already standing, it can often be assessed for a new membrane instead.

How it goes together
What decides a carpark structure.
T-post, hip roof or arch
A T-post line covers bays on both sides from a single row of supports. A hip roof gives you a pitched shape; an arch gives you a curve. Bay geometry and the membrane you have chosen decide which of the three is worth building.
Check the ground and structure
Open ground and a suspended parking deck are two different footing problems. The span, the exposure and whatever is holding that deck up all feed the design well before anything is fabricated.
Agree the working area
Tell us which bays can close and when your deliveries land. Digging, craning and curing concrete all need room and time, and none of it is quiet. The plan should say plainly which parts of the carpark stay open while that happens.
Show where rain will go
A waterproof roof has to put its water somewhere. Keep the discharge clear of crossings, accessible bays and entrances, and tie it into the drainage you already have.
Assess the frame before re-covering
Sound steel can take a new membrane. We go over the frame and the fittings first, then say whether the new fabric and geometry suit what is standing. Sometimes the answer is no.

Will it protect cars from hail?+
A membrane takes some of the impact, but how much depends on the product and on the storm. If hail cover is a requirement, put it in the brief and ask for the tested performance and its limits.
What clearance can we get?+
Send the maximum vehicle height you have to allow for, and say whether delivery or waste trucks use the same route. Extra height changes the columns and the footings under them, so it is worth settling before the layout is drawn. If a height bar is already fitted at the entry, tell us what it is set to.
Do you offer maintenance?+
Yes. We inspect, re-tension, clean and repair. How often it needs doing comes down to the structure and how exposed it is. Call us if you see movement, torn fabric or a loose fitting.
Do you need a site plan before the measure?+
Send one if you have it, with bay numbers, access restrictions and the staging you would prefer. Where there are no drawings we measure the site ourselves. The quote follows whatever scope we agree.
